Governments should introduce incentives to keep wind energy manufacturing in Europe, executives from Nordex and Siemens Gamesa said.

With its high degree of non-European components – such as castings or forgings – being supplied by China or other Asian countries, Europe’s wind sector is dependent on those markets, while there is no advantage in producing domestically, Karsten Brüggemann, vice president for the central region at Nordex, warned during a panel at the WindEnergy Hamburg industry event last week.
