MT Højgaard, Europe’s most experienced engineering, procurement and construction contractor for offshore wind foundations, reported a pre-tax loss of DKr335m ($58.9m) for 2011, compared to profit of DKr100m in 2010, as it accounted for “potential damages” it may face from existing offshore wind farms.
The loss came even as revenues at the company rose 12% to DKr1.0bn.
Jørgen Nicolajsen, the deputy chair of the board of directors, has been appointed acting chief executive, while the company assesses both internal and external candidates for the role.
