A South Korean steel giant has switched to a new UK port plans for what it claims will be the world’s largest plant producing monopile foundations to serve giant wind farms in the North Sea.

SeAH will build the plant producing up to 150, 1,200-tonne XXL monopiles a year at the Teesworks site on Teesside, Northeast England, said regional mayor Ben Houchen and local media, with construction set to begin in July this year of a facility that will support 750 direct jobs.
