The current rapid growth in wind capacity on land and at sea is boosting the demand for skilled workforce, a joint report by the Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC) and turbine owners and manufacturers skills and training group Global Wind Organisation (GWO) has found.

To build and maintain a world-wide onshore and offshore wind fleet that is slated to increase by 67% by 2026, some 569,000 technicians will be needed, up from 426,700 in 2021, the report titled Global Wind Workforce Outlook 2022 – 2026 showed.
