The victory for Mitsubishi is significant as GE brings its 2.5xl multi-megawatt turbine to the US this year and the battle for the larger-capacity turbine market heats up. Had GE won, Mitsubishi likely would have been prevented from importing and selling its 2.4MW turbines in the US.
GE says it is “extremely disappointed” in the ruling and intends to “explore all of its legal options and will continue to vigorously protect its intellectual property”.
