Orsted and Danish logistics firm DSV will test long-distance drone transport of spare parts and tools to the utility’s Anholt offshore wind farm in the Kattegat strait (that links the North and Baltic Seas).
Cargo drones can offer an alternative to the costly and time-consuming transport of spare parts for service technicians, enabling a much faster wind turbine restart, Orsted said.
