The government of Mauritius is taking the first steps towards offshore wind development by seeking expert help in the sector.
The newly-established Mauritius Research Council (MRC), which was recently set up to oversee the country’s plans to transition to a low carbon economy, has invited companies to submit an expression of interest for the development of such projects.
MRC’s role will be to promote and co-ordinate national investment in research, and it is now looking for “reputable consultancy firms having past experience in development of offshore wind farms”, it said.
