Massachusetts has issued a new competitive offshore wind solicitation for large-scale projects with an up-to-1.6GW total capacity, with developers currently holding leases off the state’s southern coast all eligible to submit bids through to the autumn.
Among those leaseholders are Vineyard Wind joint-venture team Avangrid and Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners, oil giants Equinor and BP, Eversource Energy and Orsted, and Mayflower Wind partners Ocean Winds and Shell New Energies.
