Massachusetts bills could raise state's offshore wind mandate to 6GW

Massachusetts lawmakers are considering two bills that would raise the state’s legal mandate to solicit and procure offshore wind capacity to as much as 6GW by 2035, behind only 9GW in New York and 7.5GW in New Jersey along the US east coast.

In the state's Senate, amendment 139 to the economic development bill would authorise a further 2.8GW to the existing 3.2GW
