The chief executive of French gas and utility giant Engie has rejected calls for a freeze on onshore wind power construction in the country, which is increasingly being demanded by leading conservative and far-right politicians.
Such a moratorium would be a “major mistake,” Catherine MacGregor told the France Inter radio station, adding that her company now is the leading operator of wind and solar farms in France.
