German-Spanish turbine maker Siemens Gamesa has locked up a first delivery off Germany for its 11MW offshore model, with Danish developer Orsted ordering a batch of the giant machines for the Gode Wind 3 project.

Twenty-three of the SG11.0-200DDs, which will fly 97-metre-long blades, will be supplied out of the OEM’s factory in Cuxhanven, Germany, as part of the deal for the 242MW development, located near the island of Norderney in the North Sea.
