GMS, based in Chelmsford, England, will install four export cables and connect them to a new onshore substation currently under construction in Cleve Hill, Kent. It will then install and bury 175 inter-array cables to link up the first phase’s 175 Siemens turbines.
It will likely be the last set of major construction contracts inked for the project, which is being built between two sand banks in the Thames Estuary by a consortium comprising DONG, E.ON
