Glasfiber, among the world’s largest producers of wind turbine blades, has US plants in Little Rock, Arkansas, and Grand Forks, North Dakota. Both facilities are operating below capacity due to cancelled orders and a general slowdown in wind energy investment because of the sluggish US economy.

Glasfiber, based in Denmark, did not say how the Samsung order would be divided between the plants, which have capability to fabricate blades as long as 220 feet..
