The New York State Energy and Research Development Authority (NYSERDA) asked the transmission and electricity distribution company to postpone the decision until after the agency can make public its blueprint for offshore wind development.
In a statement, LIPA says that delaying the board’s consideration of Deepwater’s proposed offshore facility in federal waters east of Montauk will “align the proposed Long Island project with the State’s offshore wind master plan and Clean Energy Standard, both of which are scheduled to be released in the next several weeks.”
