They say lightning doesn’t strike twice, but a new report has identified two US wind farms that were struck by bolts from the blue over 1,000 times last year.
A “first-of-its-kind analysis” of lightning in the US found a total of over 77,000 lightning strokes – individual bolts that make up what is known as a lightning strike – at or near 1,500 wind farms in 2023.
