The buoy is collecting data about wind speed, wave height, dissolved oxygen concentration, and many more data points to help the fishing industry, boaters and the broader public better understand Lake Erie’s offshore conditions.
The data is available on a 30-second webcam feed that broadcasts from the buoy every hour.
LEEDCo, a non-profit public-private partnership based in the City of Cleveland, Ohio, has teamed on the project with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Agency (NOAA), a US federal agency, and water science consultants LimnoTech based in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
“This
