Japan’s government this week launched a new effort to pass the law needed to kick-start its offshore wind sector – with one study claiming the country could have 10GW off its coasts by 2030.
The Japanese cabinet approved an Offshore Wind General Waters Bill (the ‘New Bill’) and again sent the draft law to the lower house of the Diet, Japan’s parliament, in a second attempt to secure its passage.
