The company has already begun hiring the 200 full-time employees that will flesh out its Scottish research team, which will focus on launching a 6MW offshore turbine into the European market by 2015 at the latest, according to Mark Garnett, director of the wind group at DPS.
Doosan began developing a 3MW offshore model in Korea in 2004, though its roll-out has been uncharacteristically slow for the manufacturing giant.
