Japan’s largest power company, Jera, has thrown its weight behind a new committee launched by offshore wind industry body World Forum Offshore Wind (WFO) to speed up internationalisation of the floating sector.

The Tokyo-headquartered utility, which said offshore wind would be “indispensable” for its energy transition as a company, is joined in the group, which was established in February, by Norwegian oil & gas contractor Aker Solutions and French wind energy association FEE.
