Japan’s largest onshore wind complex so far will be equipped with typhoon-class turbines from Siemens Gamesa, said the OEM.

Siemens Gamesa will deliver 79 of its 4.3MW T-class turbines to the 340MW Dohoku wind cluster under development by long-standing customer Eurus Energy.

The project in Hokkaido in Japan’s north will be the country’s largest of its kind, said the wind manufacturer, and kitted out to withstand the extreme winds encountered in the area.
