Subsidiaries of Japanese trading conglomerates ITOCHU and Sumitomo are investing $400m and the internet giant $100m in the project, developed by Caithness Energy.
The $2bn project will be the first in the US to use General Electric’s (GE's) 2.5MW turbines, and the US industrial group is also an investor in the Oregon facility.
