Japan selected four more ‘promising’ zones for offshore wind development, as reports suggest the Asian nation is poised to unveil new measures to help support expansion of the sector.

The Japanese government added the areas to the potential list of candidates for development under its new General Waters programme.

The four are Japan Sea North and South off Aomori Prefecture, Happou-cho & Noshiro-city off Akita and Enoshina off Nagasaki, said a statement from the Japan Wind Power Association.
