Jan de Nul to install over 1GW in offshore wind foundations for Orsted in Germany

Belgian contractor to use ‘next generation’ vessel Les Alizés to install monopiles at Gode Wind 3 and Borkum Riffgrund 3 projects

Offshore wind champion Orsted has awarded the installation of 106 monopile foundations at the 242MW Gode Wind 3 and the 900MW Borkum Riffgrund 3 projects in the German North Sea to Belgian contractor Jan de Nul.

The contract also includes the installation of one offshore substation topside.

Transport and installation will start in 2023 and will be the first assignment for Jan de Nul’s new ‘next generation’ offshore installation vessel Les Alizés.
