The UK’s system for connecting offshore wind farms to the grid is “inefficient” and needs updating, while Britain also needs to at least double its ambitions for onshore turbines to meet its net-zero goals, warned the local head for German utility giant RWE.

In an interview with Recharge, RWE Renewables chief commercial officer and UK country chair Tom Glover said multiple point-to-point connections from offshore wind farms to shore have turned into a big issue for the industry.
