Approval before 2 December would enable IPL to “incur” 5% of total project costs – excess of $50m – to meet the “begin construction” requirement for PTC eligibility set by the US tax authority, IPL said in regulatory filings with the Iowa Utilities Board IUB).
It would do this through purchase of wind turbines by the end of this year. IPL has asked for and received supply bids from several turbine vendors that it did not name.
