On 17 August, during a scheduled component exchange at the Point Tupper wind farm, a turbine collapsed without causing any injuries, Enercon said in a statement.
“This incident did not occur during regular operations and is undoubtedly an isolated one,” the company says.
Located near Port Hawkesbury, Nova Scotia, the 23.3MW Point Tupper wind farm was completed in 2010 using Enercon’s E82 and E48 turbines.
