Invenergy and MidAmerican, part of billionaire Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway conglomerate, have not disclosed financial terms of the transaction.
The two companies are among the five largest wind developers and asset owners in the US. Invenergy is based in Chicago and MidAmerican in Des Moines, Iowa.
The O’Brien County board of Supervisors on 18 August voted unanimously to grant Invenergy a building permit for the project.
