The US subsidiary of Indian wind group Suzlon filed for voluntary liquidation in an American bankruptcy court, citing “continued financial stress” amid the Covid pandemic.

Suzlon Wind Energy Corporation, USA (SWECO), made the filing in Illinios on Tuesday, said a statement from parent group Suzlon Energy.

“The board of SWECO took this decision in the wake of continued financial stress sustained by its operations during the pandemic,” said Suzlon, adding that it does not expect the decision to have any direct or material impact on its main business.
