India’s Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) said “type and quality certification by an internationally-recognised certification body will be a mandatory requirement” for future turbine installation, as it issued new draft guidelines for wind developers.
The country’s National Institute of Wind Energy (NIWE) will publish a list of models that meet the criteria, according to the guidelines, which have just been issued as part of a consultation process.
