“Wikinger is the first project that Iberdrola is constructing on its own, without any joint venture partner,” says Iberdrola offshore managing director Jonathan Cole.
“As a €1.4bn ($1.54bn) wind farm that we are fully funding on our own [Wikinger] is probably one of the largest single projects in the renewables sector.
“The turbine manufacturing is all on track, and the array cables are more or less complete, certified and shipped,” adds Cole.
