The 104-turbine facility in thinly-populated northeastern Perquimans and Pasquotank counties will be the first located in eight southeastern states that border the Atlantic Ocean and Gulf of Mexico – Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia.
That region, plus Arkansas and Kentucky, are the only areas in the US where there is no installed wind generation capacity.
