The 20-year power purchase agreement, set to begin in October 2012, is a first in Ohio for FirstEnergy Solutions, the competitive generation subsidiary of FirstEnergy.
The 304MW project, which began construction last autumn and is on track for completion this year, is also Iberdrola’s first foray into the state, which has a significant renewable energy mandate but only 11MW of wind installed at the end of 2010.
