Iberdrola finally secured development consent for the outstanding portion of its £6.5bn ($8.8bn) East Anglia Hub offshore wind mega-project off eastern England, just in time to help it meet what is widely tipped to be an increased ambition for the sector by the UK government.

The UK energy secretary Kwasi Kwarteng granted the up-to 800MW East Anglia 1 North and 900MW East Anglia 2 projects consent after a delayed process that saw the developments miss the deadline for the latest round of UK renewable energy auctions.
