Iberdrola will build PV facilities of 170MW and 100MW, plus 325MW of wind capacity that will bring its total renewables base in the Latin American nation to 1GW.

The 600MW will cost about €700m to build and will come online in 2018 and 2019, said the Spanish energy group.

The wind farms will be built in the states of Puebla and Guanajuato, with the PV facilities sited in San Luis de Potosí and Sonora.
