Romanian grid operator Transelectrica has authorised Iberdrola Renovables – the world’s largest renewables company, and largest operator of wind farms – to connect the projects to the grid as they are commissioned between 2011 and 2017.
Iberdrola Renovables plans to build dozens of wind farms across Romania’s wind-swept southeastern region under its so-called ‘Dubruja project’. It operates in Romania in conjunction with Eolica Dobrogea, which is owned by Swiss engineering group and Romanian companies C-Tech and Rokura.
