Ibedrola Renovables will take control of the project from its current owners, which include Deutsche Bank and project developer Ventotec. Construction will start in 2014.
Iberdrola has rapidly ramped up its ambitions for offshore wind in recent months. In March the firm announced the creation of a dedicated offshore wind division, which will be led by ScottishPower Renewables director Keith Anderson.
