Companies demanding access to sources of renewable energy as a condition of investing in Poland convinced the nation's government to rethink a distance rule for onshore wind turbines that had brought the sector to a standstill, admitted a high-ranking official.

Hanna Uhl, director of the department of low-carbon economy at Poland's development ministry, told the annual conference of the Polish Wind Energy Association (PWEA): “We want to have a situation where investors coming to Poland will be able to meet their corporate obligations and commitments related to, for example, 100% renewable energy.
