Wind power’s future in India will increasingly be as a partner to solar as turbines help to maximise the output of PV in hybrid plants, said industry leaders as they launched a major study of the sector there.

With national and state tenders increasingly shunning standalone wind projects and awarding deals to hybrid projects, Balram Mehta, chief operating officer at development giant ReNew Power, said hybrids increasingly look like “the new way of adding wind” in India.
