Home Depot, the US home improvement supplies giant, has announced its first major investment into wind, agreeing to buy 50MW of output from the 250MW Los Mirasoles wind farm in Texas owned by EDP Renewables North America.

Home Depot also confirmed a goal to procure 135MW of renewables capacity by 2020, meaning it needs to sign more off-take deals on top of Los Mirasoles and the two micro utility-scale solar it buys power from on the East Coast.
