The four wind farms – known as North Sea Windpower 4-7 (NSWP 4-7) – are located between 160km and 200km from the island of Borkum, across an area of more than 300 sq km.
HODS is a recently-formed 50/50 joint venture between the Hochtief Solutions unit of German construction giant Hochtief and private equity group Ventizz Capital Partners.
Ventizz had already bought the Nautilus II wind farm into the partnership, meaning that the joint venture is now developing five offshore projects with a total capacity of 2GW
HODS says it will design the projects during the planning stage and eventually sell them on to large power companies or financial investors.
