Siemens Gamesa has upgraded the rating of its 5.X onshore wind turbine platform and now offers it in versions that can reach a rated power output of 6.6MW, which the OEM claims make it the highest yielding onshore turbine.
The manufacturer presented the new SG 6.6-155 and the SG 6.6-170 versions at the Husum Wind exhibition that starts today in the northern German coastal town and ends Friday, which it said will optimise performance in high, medium as well as low-wind conditions.
