Swedish floating wind outfit Hexicon has linked up with developer Genesis Eco-Energy Developments to explore building utility-scale arrays in the deep waters off South Africa.
The two companies, working under the GenesisHexicon joint venture banner, are setting up a joint project team and scoping a first development phase for a lead-off array off the country, Hexicon has told Recharge.
“This is an early move with great partner in new territory,” said Hexicon CEO Henrik Baltscheffsky .
