German utility RWE has provided Recharge with more insight into the almost half a billion dollars of losses it suffered as a result of the extreme cold snap that hit the US state of Texas in February, causing widespread supply outages and massive power price distortions.

The company, which is one of the top wind power producers in the state, earlier said part of its onshore wind fleet was out of service for several days in mid-February because of icing and grid issues.
