A new US inter-governmental task force has met for the first time to begin consideration of how and where development of offshore wind will occur off northern New England, with state leaders from Maine, Massachusetts and New Hampshire optimistic it will become an important energy source in northern New England.
Among the issues discussed were jurisdictional authorities, Gulf of Maine information resources and ocean users, the three states’ renewable energy goals and east coast offshore wind leasing developments.
