The International Renewable Energy Agency (Irena), the Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC) and the government of Denmark have teamed up to create a new Global Offshore Wind Alliance (GOWA) with the goal to become a driving force world-wide for the uptake of wind at sea.

The ambition of the new alliance (which will be made official later this year) is to boost global offshore wind capacity up 670% from 57GW last year to 380GW in 2030.
