Europe could be pulling in well over 30GW of floating wind power off its Atlantic coastlines at a “guaranteed” lower cost of energy (LCOE) than is currently forecast for the sector by using global information system (GIS) software to locate future projects in the richest resourced sites and streamline marine spatial planning, a new study has found.
