GE Renewables has landed first firm sales for its giant 5.3MW Cypress turbines in Brazil, in a break-through order from French developer EDF Renewables.
EDF will buy 25 machines for its Mulungo and Bonito wind farms in the country’s northeastern state of Bahia. The two projects have a combined capacity of 132.5MW and will be part of the Ventos da Bahia wind complex, which currently operates a 182MW fleet.
