German wind groups, turbine manufacturers, suppliers and financiers gathered at the Husum Wind exhibition in a joint appeal ahead of federal elections later this month have urged state and federal politicians to improve policies and framework conditions for a faster wind power expansion.

“Our clear message to politicians and the broader industry is: manufacturers and suppliers in Germany can continue to deliver the most efficient wind turbines so that the energy and climate targets can be achieved,” said Matthias Zelinger, the outgoing managing director of VDMA Power Systems, a group representing wind OEMs.
