Germany’s latest onshore wind auction came within a whisker of full subscription as the sector cautiously celebrated a return to form in Europe’s largest economy in 2023.

The November tender saw 1.97GW of bids awarded against an available 2.09GW, said federal network agency BNetzA, which runs the rounds. The average weighted bid value came in at €0.0731/kWh ($0.076/kWh).

That means for 2023 as a whole the agency has dished out contracts for around 6.4GW
