German onshore wind additions surged, but still remain at a level that is far too low to reach national and European climate targets, first half 2021 figures show.
Europe’s largest economy installed 971MW in new wind capacity on land, a 62%-increase from the first half of last year, Deutsche Windguard said, which provided the statistics for Germany’s wind energy federation BWE and manufacturers group VDMA Power Systems.
